Yarra Valley Pacing Cup - Oaks Day
Ah, Oaks Day. Or as it’s known in this part of the world, the Pacing Cup. This is Yarra Valley racing showing off: the sun’s out, the horses are set, and everybody’s dressed to the absolute nines. The Pacing Cup is one of the club’s biggest annual harness events, and it tends to go off with a bang. The fashions are particularly fierce (dress to impress, ladies), live bands will be pumping out the tunes, and there’s a chef-prepared picnic hamper with your name all over it. And if you think the harness racing’s competitive, just wait ‘til you see Fashions on the Field…

General Club information:
A day at the Yarra Valley Trots has certainly got it all. It is entertaining, exciting and exhilarating, especially when combined with super facilities, great service, wonderful food and fine wines.
Think relaxed country racing with a touch of glamour and a vibrant atmosphere and you’ll start to get an idea of what a day at the Yarra Valley races is all about.
Yarra Valley Pacing Cup Day takes place on Oaks Day, the third day of the Melbourne Cup Spring Racing Carnival at Flemington. Yarra Valley provides patrons a more relaxed country alternative.
Aside from the exciting racing that takes place on the track, Oaks Day has long been renowned as Ladies Day. This event is a great opportunity for the Yarra Valley to immerse itself in Spring Carnival fever and embrace the fun and frivolity associated with frocks and fillies! This is the ‘ultimate style day’ of the Carnival, when women take the opportunity to express their own signature style.
Whether it is just for fun, or the lure of the wonderful prizes on offer at the Fashions on the Field event, Yarra Valley Oaks Day is definitely one for the ladies! It is an action packed day and evening that promises to delight your senses.
