K D Muscles wins the Gunbower Trotters Cup.

A ripping edition of the Gunbower Family Hotel Gunbower Pacing Cup looks assured this Sunday with a full field to contest the day’s feature.

An eight-race card will entertain racegoers at the track’s showcase raceday, which will be complemented by a feast of off-course activities.

They include the traditional gumboot throw, always a Gunbower favourite, amid a heap of family fun featuring a water slide, 17-metre inflatable crocodile game, pony trots, a punters’ club and fashion exhibition.

Race goers can book a $60 umbrella package – including alcohol, nibbles and racebook – to get the VIP treatment.

Those attending are advised that due to the Fox Island Road Bridge’s closure signed detours are in place diverting race goers to the track via Gunbower Island Road and around the football field.

Race one kicks off at 1.10pm with the Cohuna Car Sales Bill Poxon Memorial Gunbower Trotters Cup to feature at 3.32pm followed by the pacing cup at 4.39pm.
